Dr. Ana Muniz will discuss the use of digital surveillance with regards to immigrant populations and, in particular, immigrant gang members while providing an analysis of the ways in which digital surveillance creates references of various groupings.

Ana Muniz is an Assistant Professor of Criminology, Law and Society at the University of California, Los Angeles.  Dr. Muniz's areas of specialization include gang profiling, youth justice, gang injunctions and databases, immigration enforcement, policing, race and state violence.

In addition to the Criminal Justice Research Center, this event is co-sponsored by the Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountability.
