Andrew Grant-Thomas (Ph.D. University of Chicago, 2000) is the current Director of Programs at Proteus Fund in Amherst, Massachusetts. He is the former Deputy Director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity. His work focuses on policy-oriented research on a range of topics, including the nature of structural racism, immigrant-African American alliance formation, the contexts of African American male lives, and talking about race and ethnicity in constructive and unifying ways. He is former Associate Editor for Race/Ethnicity: Multidisciplinary Global Contexts, a journal published in collaboration with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Ohio State University. Previously, he was a senior research associate at the Civil Rights Project at Harvard University.
