The Institute for Excellence in Justice

The Institute for Excellence in Justice (IEJ) was a partnership between the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and the Criminal Justice Research Center at The Ohio State University. The partnership was formed in the spring of 2006 but was dissolved in 2009.

During its existence, the IEJ worked with criminal justice practitioners to identify and disseminate pertinent information for the development and implementation of sound policies and practices. The IEJ also worked with academe to identify gaps in research that can be translated into a best practices blueprint for practitioners. Those activities worked to ensure that programming, decision making and policy implementation were aligned with what research concludes are best practices; thereby increasing the effectiveness in servicing the academic research community, policy developers, and the implementation community.

The Institute for Excellence in Justice (IEJ) was located within the Office of Policy and Offender Reentry and also maintained an office within the Criminal Justice Research Center on the main campus of The Ohio State University.
