Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Research has indicated that individuals using opioids are found to be more likely to report physical and mental health issues and to have more frequent dealings with the criminal justice system compared with individuals not taking opioids.  Due to the epidemic levels of overdose and abuse in Ohio, nearly all criminal justice orgnaizations from law enforcement to Ohio's prisons, as well as health related agencies, are now requiring specialized training in the recognition of opioid overdose and abuse.  The first line of intervention in the field is the administration of Naloxone.  This training session will address these issues and will provide the participants training in the administration of Naloxone as well as a free naloxone kit.  This event is made possible by the Wilce Student Center (Phillip Anderson, Pharmacy Manager), the OSU College of Public Health and the Collegiate Recovery Community.
