Christopher R. Browning (Ph.D. University of Chicago, 1997) is Professor of Sociology. His current research focuses on the causes and consequences of community social organization; the neighborhood context of crime, risk behavior, and health; the long-term effects of maltreatment during childhood; and multilevel statistical models. He is a co-investigator on the Children's Exposure to Violence over Space and Time project funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and a member of CJRC's Spatial Crime Research Working Group.
