Your generous support of the CJRC in 2018 helped us to continue our active programming in the criminal justice arena. Some examples of your support at work includes:

• In addition to our highly successful community oriented Institute for Excellence in Justice and our end of the year highlighted seminar, The Reckless-Dinitz Lecture, the CJRC sponsored monthly seminars featuring academic and community professionals addressing critical issues such as Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) operations, opioid interdiction and treatment, dynamics of pleas bargaining, future of law enforcement (Chief Jacobs).
• Provided faculty seed grants to OSU faculty members to support their crime related research projects including projects addressing genocide in Rwanda, prisoner re-entry in Columbus, OH, the opioid epidemic in OH, recidivism rates, and employment prospects among ex-inmates.
• Sponsored the Annual Graduate Student Crime Symposium where graduate students presented on their criminology related research in preparation for the ASC.
• Provided travel grants to support six Ohio State graduate students whose research was presented at the American Society of Criminology conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
• Worked on behalf of OSU faculty to initiate and coordinate contacts with local criminal justice agencies. 
• Over 72 undergraduate students have been placed as research interns with one of our 25 + partner community agencies, 26 students have either spent a “day in the field” or shadowed a community professional, and small groups of students received sponsored tours of professional sites including the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center and the Ohio Emergency Operations Center.
• The CJRC arranged and participated, with community partners, presentations for CJ related panels and career panels for several classes and forums.
• The CJRC actively participates in criminal justice related career counseling, field experience exploration and job applications coaching as well as serving as advisors for two student organizations connecting them with criminal justice professionals, and tours of facilities.  Additionally, the CJRC sponsored documentary viewings pertaining to Riker’s Island the other titled Knife Skills a documentary about a reentry program teaching French cooking skills in Cleveland, Ohio.
• The CJRC continues to increase our social media footprint especially with Facebook and Twitter.  Announcements, presentations, speakers and other special events are now pushed out regularly on social media and our listserv has grown by over 12% in the last 12 months.
