Your generous support of the CJRC helps us to continue our active programming in the criminal justice arena.  Some examples of your support at work include:

       In addition to our highly successful community oriented Institute for Excellence in Justice and the Reckless-Dinitz Lectures, the CJRC sponsored monthly seminars featuring academic and community professionals addressing critical issues such as domestic violence, female incarceration, genocide, mass incarceration, current criminal justice challenges (OH), and community policing.  These seminar and lecture events provide a forum for university and community professionals to interact, collaborate and remain informed on current research.

·     Provided faculty seed grants to OSU faculty members to support their crime related research projects.  Recent projects are focusing on genocide in Rwanda, prisoner re-entry in Columbus, OH and in PA, the opioid epidemic in OH, recidivism rates, on-line drug trafficking in illegal substances (via the Darkweb), and employment prospects among ex-inmates.

·     Sponsored and held the Annual Graduate Student Crime Symposium where graduate students presented on their criminology related research.

·     Provided travel grants to support six Ohio State graduate students whose research was presented at the National American Society of Criminology conference.

·     Worked on behalf of OSU faculty to initiate and coordinate contact with local criminal justice agencies. Initiated and coordinated discussions about data sharing among criminal justice agencies and faculty researchers.

·     Since the beginning of the summer term, CJRC has placed over 55 undergraduate students as research interns with one of our 25 + partner community agencies, 13 students have either spent a “day in the field” or shadowed a community professional, and small groups of students received sponsored tours of professional sites such as the Ohio Reformatory for Women, Franklin County Coroner’s Office and Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. 

·     Arranged and participated, with community partners, presentations for CJ related panels and career panels for several classes and forums.

·     Actively participated in criminal justice related career counseling, field experience exploration and job applications coaching.  

·     Dramatically increased CRJC’s social media footprint especially with Facebook and Twitter.  Announcements, presentations, speakers and other special events are now pushed out regularly on social media and our listserv has grown by over 15% in the last 7 months.
